Searching

I am in an odd place
Still searching for my life
Through all the pain
The hurt and the strife.

I know it makes me stronger
As I make it to the other side
But while still in the middle
The pain does still reside.

So now I have to move along
Leave the pain in the past
And find the new life
That will be in huge contrast.

Where there is love
Happiness and joy
And I will find the smiles
That my heart will employ!

It does excite me to think
That is just around the corner
And I will be a new creature
Never again the mourner!

It has been way too long
Too long that I have wandered
Not knowing where I stood
And having much to ponder.

Wandering in pain and hurt
Does not accomplish much
But moving on to find myself
Will bring me back in touch.

I am a good and loving person
Who has many complex sides
And so much to offer
From what herein abides!

I know that I am special
For that is how I was made
And someone special will see it
Someone I will not have to persuade!

They will see it naturally
And have the desire to share
A life that before me
Never could compare!!

I am still working on me
And finding new things everyday
But I have come so far now
That I don't want to play.

I am ready for true love
For the joys it will bring
And then I know that my heart
Will never cease to sing.
