For You

Just for now,
Take hold of my hand,
That I extend out to you.
And follow me.

We'll traipse through the snow;
Be sure to step in where I have--
For we do not know what lies beneath otherwise,
Just follow me now.

You see that mountain?
The ones with the serrated rocks?
The one with the secret places where you could plummet?
Looks daunting doesn't it?
Makes you want to turn back and run;
Take that easy road we passed not a moment ago--
What purpose would taking the easy path serve?
What lessons, what experiences would you gain?
Just by taking the easy road out?
I never promised that this path would be facile.
I only promised to be hiking it with you.

But you must be conscious of the fact;
That there are some places where
You have to go on your own.
These places you must be able to triumph over;
It will give you the strength you need to move forward.

You see the gold light cresting over the top?
That is what we want to go after,
What we want to achieve as we reach the other side.
I'll go with you as far as I can,
Until we reach the path that is meant for you only.
Do not fret dear.
I'll be waiting for you;
For you to make it through.
And if you ever get lost;
Just say my name,
And I'll find you.

    Personally, i felt like it was message sent by God fpr his children if u read every single detail in it again from my point of view youll understand. Im not saying that thats the writers intention, but Personally i read it and understood it like that.
    It was very beautiful inspirational amazing and so far my favorite poem, it seems to me it has such more greater hidden meaning in my opinion :)

    I like the sense of place, So descriptive, you can feel how cold the snow is, or how sharp the rocks are...

    Also the word "daunting"... you could have used any word.... like 'scary' or 'frightening' but daunting describes it soo much better than anything i can think of...

    the Underlying theme that "the difficult things are difficult for a reason" is very compelling to me
    so many people take the easy road in life. You only get out what you put in. And you put your heart into this poem
    I can not iterate enough... this really is an amazing poem

    This really got to me cause i tend to be a person who takes the easy road because every time i took the hard path i would find myself struggling with no support to help me when i fell. This has made me want to keep trying though thank you for sharing this work :]

    It's quite mesmerizing, this poem.
    What I like the most is the usage of the questions.

    I think they gave rise to another questions.. doubts.. amazing images full of question marks, alongside depth and flow.

    Great one.
