It was late when I awoke
And she was lying there.
She shifted as my gentle stroke
Brushed back her moon-lit hair.
The pale light through the window
Illuminated features fair.
As I listened to the wind blow
I softly kissed her shoulders bare.
Peaceful, she was sleeping
In my arms so unaware.
As I adored her dreaming
And stroked her skin with cautious care.
To the rhythm of her breathing,
I layed my hand between her breasts
And felt the steady beating
Of her heartbeat in her chest.
Her heart ticked away the minutes
As I gazed upon her features.
Intertwined as full moon lit
My lovely sleeping creature.
And as if she sensed my musing,
She held me to her tight.
Until sleep came diffusing,
I drifted off into the night.
