Deeper Look

How can one be beautiful
when so empty inside?
and how can one be lovely
with so many things to hide?

Don't be taken with what you see
that is not the whole story
take a deeper look
and take full inventory!

Can you see you falling
for that one so very pretty
but I feel I know how you were taken
The hurt to come such a pity

You let your head be turned
by the flashy glimmer
and all these feelings in you
will be left over to simmer.

Your being taken by shear beauty
and forgetting all the rest
Enjoy the moments in the present
but it can't and won't pass the future test

You I know are so very flattered
by the turning of her head,
and take everything to heart
believing all that she has said.

But are you being foolish?
can you see you're being played?
You want it to be so real
You have let your heart be swayed.

You think you know the truth
Even though, you shove it deep down
The feelings that she brings
Isn't what you think you have found

You have been taken in
by the beauty and the romance
Deciding that though if you lose
this might be worth the chance.

You have turned your back on
many allies and dear friends.
You decide to take the chance
and see how much the heart bends

To having someone
So lovely to the eyes.
To carry on your arm at night
Be blinded so you dont see the lies

It is just too tempting I guess
one you will fail not pass
Maybe you feel brand new
But you have lost your class.

So run, you fool
Soon you will learn
When you play with fire
you will also get a burn.

Will the ones you left
still be there by that time?
Will they take you back again
Or leave you laying in the muddy grime

After chasing loves
Whose fancy you desire
Why would you deserve anyone
Who was steady and not a liar?

As you let your head get turned
Enjoy the attention while you can
Your day of awakening to truth, you see
Will shake you to the core my man

Take heed my friend
and watch out for your pace
Don't let your head be turned
by just another pretty face.

It is flattering and fun
it stirs your heart for now
but they are only playing you
then returning to the prowl.
