Just Let Go

by JakeHatesYou   Nov 2, 2011

The blue embraces you,
So soft and cool.
It doesn't feel bad,
Just to let go.

The glossy surface,
Is breakable with the,
Slightest touch,
Of the smallest finger.

You lay on your back,
Looking to the heavens,
Exchanging thoughts with the clouds,
As the current overtakes you.

You notice all around,
Everything seems so peaceful,
But all that vanishes when you realize,
This is where it'll all end.

Leaving was never this easy,
The heavens above, await you.

Off in the distance,
A storm stirs up motion.
Lightning strikes,
And thunder cracks.
So much for being peaceful.

Memories are all you have,
And all anyone else has.
They will all fade away,
Like the waves do, everyday.

The waves become more intense,
As the storm becomes more fierce.
You finally sink oh so below,
Nothing can hold you up now.

The pressure surrounds you,
As the light becomes dim,
You know this is the end,
Oh how good it has been.

Don't let those memories fade..

. . .

Your eyes are closed.
Hearing the waves crash,
Against the soft sand,
Drifting through your hands.

You look up to see the sun,
Shining through the branches,
Of new-born palm trees,
Shimmering amongst the ocean blue.

You realize that this world,
This life; Is meant to go on,
To go through all life experiences,
To enjoy what you have.

The bad moments you go through,
Are like a wave from the sea;
You know things will get better,
When the wave crashes against the coast,
And fades away.
