Lullabies for Eagles

by Lofallenve   Nov 8, 2011

I was lying in a field of dying grass
Staring at the bright blue sky overhead.
When a beautiful golden eagle,
Came into my view.
I whispered this lullaby to it across the wind:
"Soar, eagle, soar
Fly like you have before,
Spread your sun-touched wings,
Allow the kiss of the wind
To bring you from shore to shore
Take with you this whisper,
Take with you my small plea,
If you could ever be so kind,
To not leave my hopes behind,
But take them with you,
Store them in your soul.
So, Soar, eagle, soar
Spread the hopes I give to you,
From shore to shore."
