Naive

Call me naive

because you can't speak without fingers crossed behind your back, and I'm standing right behind you. But still
I inhale every word through my mouth without filter, letting it pass straight through my body.

because I kept that bottle on my shelf- post it notes folded twice holding words that made me smile. So that when I played back all the memories that's all I would remember.
because I thought I could look at your fingers without imagining mine in the space between them, thought I could stop here. Restart. Refresh. Backspace. Press rewind and this time, only stop at my favorite parts.

Call me what you will, but you're wrong, and I won't apologize.

just got back into writing recently. This is nowhere near done- just something I wrote during a ten minute exercise, but I think my writing has changed a lot over the past few years, and I want to see what you guys think.

This is an excellent way to start off on the proper foot. This is a great way to start back on the writing path.

It does lack a little clarity and i only say that to perhaps steer you in the correct direction. This is a very nice poem and I understand what it's about and I appreciate it.

    Have a nice day.
