On Metaphor

by Erik62   Dec 2, 2011

A good test to find if a mind is poor
Is to hear one use metaphor.
Does he repeat what he thought he had heard
When young, like a parrot, some absurd
Image that proves he stopped learning language
When he reached seven years of age?
He gets his eggs in a basket to show
He means get your ducks in a row.
Faced with a problem, he shows who's in charge;
He nips it in the butt before it gets large.
If one had read more, he'd be less confused,
But those who know better would be less amused.
One more on the subject of birds he has made,
Don't count your chickens before they've been laid.
