Lies

by amanda   Dec 7, 2011

Making the words for a lie
is easy.

Speaking the words for a lie
is hard.

No matter how many times
they pass your lips,
it never gets easier.

Every time a lie is told,
a brick is added to
the wall of mistrust
you make by your
own two hands.

Soon that wall will be
so very tall that
no matter how high you climb,
you will never reach the top.

And when you
can no longer climb,
you will fall with bloody hands.

When you do fall,
those around you
will want to see through
the wall you created.

They will do anything
to get a peek,
even digging holes
and gouging out chunks,
in their ruthless curiosity.

Soon the wall with be
unstable,
and it will fall.

It will fall on you,
and you will be
crushed under
your pile of lies.
