The Gift

You give me a gift,
Wrapped up in a little box,
I looked up surprised wondering if it's for me,
You nodded yes,
I opened it amazement in my eyes,
A gold heart necklace was there for me,
Then in an instant you said oops wrong person,
And snatched the box away,
I am left there all alone with nothing but a hole in my heart,
You later laugh about it with your friends,
A mean prank that I will never forget,
The gift that wasn't meant for me.
