Perversions and Distractions

by Skarletta   Dec 29, 2011

Grey is morning, my heart after it rains

Nothing washed away, just polished

So the light shines through dimly

Come shatter it like ice against concrete

The noise you hear is no whimper, it's a sigh

If you can put all the pieces back together

You can keep it, just don't tell me

Blue is daytime, my body at its finest peak

Not bright like the stars or clear like tears

A misty, complicated, empty case

Take this unclean thing, and cleanse it

If you can wipe away my sin, you can keep it

Just please never give it back

My conscience won't be able to tell the difference

Orange is sundown, my mind thickly aflame

Heated, wondering how to fix everyone's problems

Ashes to ashes, filth to filth, shake it free of its pain

Take this burning thing and calm the flames

You'll need strength to water them down

If you can put out the raging fire, you can keep it

Who wants a survivor of arsony stuck to them like glue

Black is midnight, my soul after exorcism

Muck gathered around a lifeless orb of 'once been'

A shadow in a two dimensional world, hidden, lost

See it shiver and hear it roar, help me tie it down

If you can relax the perversion, if you can tame this thing

Adopt it as your own, I'll let you

Free me.
