She

by Tangerine   Jan 7, 2012

In a dreamy place, I calmly watch..
My eyes behold a child
Surrounded by a field of silken memories
Sitting on the soft patch
of interlocking dreams and destinies.
On her sweet face remains
a full presence of an angel's grace.
Above her is the blazing sun
with the rays dancing on her hair.
Like magic, she moves
softly cooing, gently humming.
She wears the cloth of love
made from the heavens..
Flowers grow under her feet
blossoming for her sole benefit.
She laughs like a cherubim
and sings like a seraphim.
Every charm and wonder
to her, the earth owes.
Why is she here?
Only God knows...

Ah that heavenly creature
that sweet little child..
She is keeping a secret.
A hidden wonder
of her youth's power.
I look back with glee
the child I did not see.

I closed my eyes
Where could she be?
I heard a murmur
and then I saw her.

Everything stood still
a single breath swallowed the joy
the sun corrupted the colors
'Twas as if death spoke
as if time stopped.
She turned her back
I did not breathe
I did not move.
Big drops of rain came,
thundering all around
yet nothing can be heard.
The bitter kiss of silence,
All was black,
the ground was wet with mud
the heavens turned grey
the poor child has no one
her companions, all gone.

Her cloth is damp with tears
mixed with water from the rain...
I could not be mistaken,
with fear the child is shaken.
Her heavenly wonder is gone,
the sun is shinning no more
now the moon is awake and grieving.

As if in a nightmare,
I watch painful
the child, in a field of grief..
sitting on cold mud of never ending malady.
on her gloomy face lives
no sign of relief.
Above her the dull stars weep..
all the tears pouring all too soon.
Like a ghost, she sobs
slowly suffering, bit by bit dying.
She wears the cloth of misery
torn by tragedies and difficulty.
Everything dies under her feet
Death is spelled on her lips.
The earth grieves for her.
Why is she here?
Only God knows.

"I feel for this creature,
this poor fragile thing.."

I was about to leave,
when slowly,
ever so slowly
she turned around.
The image almost killed me,
it will keep on haunting me.
Her eyes.. oh..
I hear myself gasping for air,
but no sound came..
I still cannot believe.
All this time, I was deceived
the child is not a child anymore
she is not an enemy
nor a friend to me
that person
oh she..
she is no one else
but me.
