Prisoner of the Moon

by Ronnie   Jan 9, 2012

As I gaze into the moons eye its soul pulls me into a journey,

A path I needed to venture before but pride would not lend the key

It drags and pulls me over the edge it doesn't need my compliance

While the planets sit high on their thrown's manifestering this new science

The stars are witnesses to this unruly game wisely keeping their distance

As I stagger then fall ungracefully through the widening gaps in my confidence

I spin, twist and twirl stretching out to grab a branch of life

But I've already been severed deeply by the diamond blade of realities knife

The screaming thunderous silence of space my hearing cannot endure

My vision clouded by regret, fear and remorse of an existence acutely impure

As I turn within the moon it hides me from the grace of the sun

Its back now turned and the shade that dawns whispers "its only just begun"....
