Letter 47 "Beyond the Moonlight"

by Marcus blake   Jan 15, 2012

Hearts beat unique sounds and create a wave that travels across the world
People are weak and not all things are clear, like you
Sometimes we must lose sight of all we have to value what we wanted, what we lost
Desire runs deep like an addiction not easily forgotten, yet things are worth the pain
Thoughts of you comfort me as you are compassionate, fair, true...
Dreams bring me only so close that in reality I realize you were never there
Though the mirror fate shows me a glimmer or your face, a faint smile
In my heart no worse pain cuts though me than that of sorrow and regret
In your eyes and soft smile those become nothing, yet your eyes I have never seen
Your face I have never touched, and a voice I've never heard...
Though I know you, through your words and your praise, your character and your ways of living
I see that all things in life are worth cutting ones heart, worth losing all things
Suffering and gambling all you have for feelings, moments that make a man wonder
In your sweet face I found love, sadness, passion, and desire
And those are things worth risking for, worth dreaming for, even if its just a dream
Like moonlight, shining through the night sky
You walk past me never knowing, strangers to the world
My heart cut in half...
