Aaaaa... rhyming scheme "HABBIT OF SLEEPING"

by Devesh   Jan 22, 2012

Early to bed and early to rise,
Makes a man, healthy, wealthy and wise.
Proverb in which deep meaning lies,
Said by all the elders, as their advice.
But in ones life, nobody actually implies,
Though in everyones mind its clearly incised.

Late to bed and late to rise,
You are in college, its no surprise.
Life here goes through all lows and highs,
Students helpless as professors tyrannize.
Where fags and booze are granted franchise,
Everyone living here are quoted uncivilized.
Definition of college as I devise,
Its a perch full of devils in disguise.

Late to bed and early to rise,
You have a boss, it lucidly applies.
Running around in neck cuff as ties,
Answering questions with default replies.
Everyday you wake up and realize,
You're celebrating your freedom's demise.

Early to bed and late to rise,
You are at home, it clearly implies.
Sleepy face with swollen eyes,
Getting fatter, stuffing loads of fries.
Remembering friends, the heart cries,
"Amigos, am missing you guys."

Different phases people pass in their lives,
"Habits of sleeping", as I theorize.

Very nicely done. It had humour in it along with message. Though it being a tough rhyming scheme yet none of the word sounded as forced.
    Great write.

Sharing my opinion: Reduce the title of poem just to 'Sleeping Habits' & mention the rhyme scheme below your poem.

all the best and take care
