All around the mullberry bush

by Whispy.Gypsy   Jan 27, 2012

**first section (i will put * around it) is sung quiet and slow meaning to be sad**

*All around the mullberry bush
the children they all play
all around the mullberry bush
here is what i have to say*

there was a house on the end of the road
its windows always dark never a sound to hear
a little girl only two or three
locked in an attic for you shall see

the girl so pretty eyes went dark
they said she would not survive
that day then came she was worn away
all to go around the mullberry bush

that bush so dark it was so black
the thorns so sharp they had no sorrow
the day they came and took her away
all around the mullberry bush

her smile said one her eyes said another
never a picture never a drawing
only price to pay with her life
all around the mullberry bush

the mother a drunk the father.. what father?
beaten and bruised for the girl was confused
how to live with only a teddy bear
all around the mullberry bush

she cried at night and smiled through the day
to try and live to see the next day
the town didnt know there was a child
until the day around the mullberry bush

her eyes so blue turned to gray
her smile slowly faded away
her death came slow for there was a show
all around the mullberry bush

she held her bear oh so tight
she faught and faught all through the night
tormented she was she forgave everything
all around the mullberry bush

then the day came when her mother was drunk
she pulled a knife and threatened to scar
went to the car and opened the trunk
all around the mullberry bush

the child lay wishing for it to all end
not knowing how soon her wish would come true
she didnt want this life she tried to remend
all around the mullberry bush

the mother came back and unlocked the girls door
she pulled me to her and showed me the blade
all i could do was stare in such horror
all around the mullberry bush

there was a slicing hot pain burning maybe
the knife drove deep into the poor girl
there was a light and i shimmering lady
all around the mullberry bush

they took me away and im sorry daddy
they found my body clutching the bear
i only tried making you oh so happy
all around the mullberry bush

laying in blood crusting in my hair
the knife lay embeded in my heart
they looked in dispare
all around the mullberry bush

this is the story of a young girl
whose mother was commonly drunk and the father away
she cried all night clutching the bear
then the mother went crazy and stabbed her
they found her bloody and tossed away into a bush

all around the mullberry bush.....
