This Moment

by Alina Javed Siddiqui   Jan 28, 2012

Was sitting alone that a chill went down my spine,
To bring it to my notice how hard the wind blew outside.

Ran to the balcony and expectantly stared up ahead,
A water drop hit my face and other drops it lead.

It rained, drop after drop after a gentle drizzling,
I prayed like you that may it remain peaceful, were you listening?

The rain poured and the water caressed my face,
Closed my eyes, took the feeling in, savored the taste.

Oh the beautiful scent of sand and the ever beautiful rain,
Stop it right here. don't let This Moment pass away.

I smile, wrap my arms around myself, start missing you around,
Open my eyes, look up at the sky, covered with heavy grey clouds.

Are you smiling like me? Happy that it rained just now?
I hope you are. I pray that up there you be crowned.
