The Demon

by Jenna   Feb 3, 2012

I can't escape from this demon that haunts,
Every step I softly tread upon, every turn I make it's there.
Stalking every move I dare, to take at a sudden moment.
Then it laughs at my attempts and mocks at each thought that bends on it.
It's lingering darkness tares at my soul, numbness and terror I behold.
I run and hide at every corner, the demon still follows even closer.
A dead end now, nowhere to go, but to face this demon that follows so close.
A ghastly shadow approaches, a body begins to form.
But what my eyes can only see, is that the demon i've been running from,
Has merely been me.
