End Game pt 2

by Merdy   Feb 3, 2012

It is raining in Springfield today

warm rain drops cover the side walks like leopard spots

A woman shares the roof with me

her gown waves like black sails against a yellow indie sky

Her eye's gaze into a distressed sky

my first impression, she could sympathize with the weeping sky.

mistaken I were

this woman learned a secret I yearned to understand

Forthcoming

The final stage in a course of events

We await our finale

so many people walk about with meaningless life

So many seem half asleep

this woman however was full of life

She pulled out a cigarette and lit it

"smoking will kill you" I sarcastically murmured

"We all have to die, at least I know how I'm going out." her response

"By my own terms"

I realized then dying was inevitable, even if today was not the end of this world

My whole life I was learning to die

Today I understand her secret...

Once you learn how to die

You learn how to live.
