Speak Not

by Anna Stephens   Feb 6, 2012

Speak not of that which might have been
Not Summer's kiss, nor Winter's bliss
Languid days of love and laughter
Two in a world of endless forevers

Think not of dark and lonely days
As time and distance tolled the bell
Farewells whispered into the wind
Words not heard in the howl of despair

Fear not the shadows of the past
As they thunder through the crevices
Of memory's cruel and ashen grasp
Lingering to leave the pain of remembrance

Dwell not on horrors of the fight
Calloused souls in hell's firm grip
Torn asunder, mangled hearts
Victims of an unwilling world

Speak not, My Love, speak not

The above stanza to me was the most touching and tender I have ever read. It was simple but powerful. I really enjoy your work Ann
