Tick Tock

by Victoria   Feb 7, 2012

Monkey bars, swing sets, boys with cooties, and playing red rover...
Tick tock, tick tock, the hour glass has begun.
Check yes or no love notes, sleep overs, watching scary movies as I buried my head under covers.
Tick tock, tick tock, the hour glass's sand slowly runs...

Make-up, attitude, boyfriends, hoping to wake up older, if only I knew then how fast time moves.
Tick tock, tick tock, the glass continues to pour...
License, pep rallys, parties, High school proms, my worries was which outfit the mirror would approve.
Tick tock, tick tock, time is vanishing more, and more.

My life is surrounded by bills, late study sessions, and working late nights...
Tick tock, tick tock, the hour glass feels stuck in this stressful time it seems.
What I would do if I could start over capturing the moments of childhood memories ever so tight.
Tick tock, tick tock, Today, in this moment holding every minute close that will lead me to my dreams.

A second turns into minutes, minutes fade to hours, hours into days, the days become weeks....
Tick tock, tick tock, weeks fall into months, and before you know it the months become years.
Time is non-stopping, and the hour glass continues to leak.
Tick tock, tick tock, grasp the present, think the future, never dwell the past it only causes tears.

Live now in this exact moment, it to will pass, rather quick.
Tick tock, tick tock, life is on a clock which only moves straight ahead...
Cherish every waking moment, because tomorrow is never promised, the clock may not tick.
Tick tock.... life can vanish suddenly, the sand will stop flowing, the clock will not tick, be ready to leave the world happy, and satisfied with the life you led.
