Grandpa

by Tracey King   Feb 9, 2012

To be such a young child at the age of 13. To see so much suffering....that should never be. I was 13 when my grandpa became sick, after 44 years of smoking his heart almost quit.
He stayed in that STUPID HOSPITAL THAT KILLED HIM!!!! for 91 days. when they went to do surgery to fix him they cut his vocal cords never to speak again. Everyday was torture and pain no matter what we did it was always the same! he always hurt! he always cried! he always died! I know how it REALLY felt to be alone then...... my grandpa was my world still is to this day if I could back time I'd gladly take his place....... I know I can't but God how I wish I could just remember the saying "Cherish life for only God holds tomorrow and today may be your last."

To my Grandpa: James Brady Mullis.
We love you dearly and you are always in our lives and our minds.
P.S. "Cherish what you have cause you never know what you have till it's gone."

This poem really got to me because i seen my grandmother struggle and i was with her during her last night at home. I miss her alot, but all you can do is let it go and then move on. stop blaming everyone else, including the hospital :) In my opinion, i love this poem. it is beautiful and emotional.
