What I Can't Have

by Merci Perpe   Feb 15, 2012

Sometimes I wish I never knew you,
If I didn't I wouldn't feel like I do.
They like to say ignorance is bliss,
Would I feel bliss and not emptiness?
You are a friend, I don't want that to end,
But a life in regret I don't want to spend.
So yes or no you have to tell me:
Do you think that 'we' could ever be?

For a short piece this poem says alot. I am sure many readers will look at this and relate. I think there are times in everyones life when we like somone who may not like us back.

What stood out for me about this poem was how you were to the point. You didn't mince your words you were just honest and I liked that a lot
