Soft music

by Mr Rhee   Feb 16, 2012

I take one step,
and then I take another.
I stand there,
and I'm tempted to look back.

Each footfall will take me that much further.
That much farther.
It feels like... being pushed, and
pulled, at the same time,
but the chains that bind me... are my own.

I close my eyes tightly,
and clench my fists at my side.
I don't know what to do.
How did this come to be?
I just need to.... If only I can....

I will think of... soft music,
and pretty smiles, and sweet voices.
The first time I touched your cheek,
and kissed those lips.

    But the chains that bind me... are my own.

    that part struck a cord with me... it reminded me of a poem that I wrote...

    As I sit here in the solitude,
    and deal with how I feel.
    Caught up by love snares giant hook,
    like a fish that fights a reel.

    Tethered to an out swept line,
    this trap construed by me.
    As if its all just make believe,
    for it's my choice to be free.

    You reel me in, and let me out.
    Yet connected, I seem still,
    to a never ending battle
    against the power of your reel.

    ~~~those are the first three stanza's
    in I poem I wrote called
    "A fish that fight the reel"
    Its on page 3 of all my poems
    I hope its one you check out.
    I really like this write of yours you pen your thoughts in vibrant fashion.
