Remembrance

by johan   Feb 17, 2012

It's cold here on this rooftop tonight...
My body numb... shivering..
There's a deafening silence in the noisy city...
Yet, I can only hear my thoughts...

Remembrance of the silence that ruled between us...
Galaxies apart... empty space...
I stare at the sky...
The stars dancing in their cloaks of light..

Yet, it is dark in my soul..

The wind softly kisses the back of my neck...
Like daggers, the shivers stabs down my spine...
Your touch used to have the same effect...
God, how I don't miss them any more...

I am alone in the desolate land of my world...
I feel no hate, no pain, no anger...

I have forgiven you...

The stars have settled over the city...
Each rooftop.. each corner... each street...
Although lit... they will not lead me back to you...
Like hate... I have torn your map from my heart...

Turn dust to stone...
Turn my love to hate...
That is what you did to me...

So if I came to you now, and asked you to jump...
Can I lift you higher?...

In remembrance of your cruel intentions...
In remembrance of your fake, careless halo you so proudly wore....
In remembrance of your unbearable torture...

I close my eyes...
I step to the edge...
With open arms, I leap...
