Dreams

I slumbered in the deepest calm
No remedies or soothing balm
Just me, my mind, this heart and soul
Lost to dream, no depth control

Deeper, deeper, sinking down
Soft, warm waves, so pleased to drown
The waking world, no longer found
Left behind, it's tainted ground

Putrid memories, vacant trust
Death returns us, cosmic dust
But here, eyes closed, hope returns
Soothing, calming, nothing burns
