Memories

by Heather   Feb 22, 2012

Shallow breathing, quiet stirs
I'd do just about anything to subside my nerves.
Sleepless nights and faded days,
Soothing effects to drown out the waves.
Dried up make-up to cover the scars,
Fist full of bruises to bring out the stars.

Insecurities lie on the ledge
Weak and motionless, slide right off the edge.
Ice cold to numb out the pain,
Burning touch to drive me insane.

Disgraced reflections and mimicking sounds
Lifeless and alone, I'm all out of bounds.
Memories cling to what I wish to forget,
And forget to which I want to cling.
