Mommys Angel

by Rhonda   Feb 24, 2012

This is the story of a kid
he was only seven years old.
His favorite thing was climbing trees
at least that's what the story told.

He used to climb the very top
of any tree in his yard.
His mother told him to be careful
but to him it wasn't hard.

He always kept the spirit up
he was a lively little boy.
He never thought about himself
he'd even give away his toys.

He was mommy's little angel,
every body loved him so.
No one ever imagined
that soon it was his time to go.

One day he reached the very top
of a tree he never climbed before.
He said "Mommy look at me,
I'm gonna spread my wings and soar."

She ran towards the tree
and said "Baby don't you dare."
He laughed and said "I won't,
please, mommy don't be scared."

>He started climbing down the tree
with a smile on his face.
His mother had an awful feeling
and soon her heart began to race.

But his smile slowly faded
when he heard a frightening sound.
The branch that he was standing on
quickly snapped and hit the ground.

The little boy was hanging on
he could do nothing but scream.
His mother shouted out for help
and every one ran to the scene.

His older brother climbed the tree
but for him it was too high.
It was completely useless
no matter what they tried.

The little boy could not hold on,
his tiny hands were just too weak.
He fell so hard and hit the ground,
his mother gave the loudest shriek.

She ran to his motionless body
he layed there as he bled.
She wrapped her arms around him
and cradled his wounded head.

They rushed him to the hospital
but they were already too late.
He was internally bleeding
this was a fight against fate.

The little boy was still conscious
but the injuries were too severe.
The could do nothing but wait
they knew his death would soon be near.

His mother walked into the room
and softly caressed his head.
"Baby, sorry that you're here
it should be me on this bed."

"Mommy please stop crying,
I'm still your angel right?"
Though it hurted him to talk
he tried with all his might.

"Mommy don't you worry,
your angel now has wings to fly.
Now I can reach the highest tree
and throw myself into the sky."

With teary eyes she tried to smile,
"Baby hold on a little longer
you're going to make it out of here,
I know you're that much stronger."
>He said "mommy don't you cry"
while at the ceiling he stared.
"Just look in the highest tree,
mommy...your angel will be there."
