Giving in to life's ways

by Blaire   Mar 2, 2012

We came to our journey's end,
our ways were different, round the bend.
I hated it, that it was this tough.
somehow time with you was never enough.

Couldn't we just bend the rules,
n' keep loving each either, even like fools.
But life always takes priority
the heart, never really has any authority

Trudging alone, on the way I realized,
This relationship was better than the one I had idealised.
Even if our road together was rocky,
Being loved by you, I consider myself lucky.

And so passing by, the leafless trees,
leaving behind, painful memories,
a smile touched my lips,
I loved knowing, it was me you chose,
Im glad, that once I was yours.
