Stranger at a funeral

by Ole Carsten   Mar 4, 2012

Sadness at a funeral

Standing without knowing the language
But knowing the quite sadness
Listing to songs crying out loss
Felling a tear in the corner of my eyes

Seeing people standing with bended heads
Singing almost unbearable
Looking a frostclear sky
No birds are singing

Dead is here on the graveyard
But in a strange beautiful form
Chaotic preaching on the edge of life
Closeting a chapter once more

I don't know you
But I wish you a good journey
Let this be the colorful ending on earth
See you in the heaven, maybe...

    Very, Very heartbreaking poem.

This has reminded me of the funerals I have been to and when I have lost someone.

    Broke my heart. Well done

Thanks I was there to support my love. It was a family member died of cancer, after years of illness.
But I tried to capture te essence of standing there not knowing what will happend, and you really don't ask or chat during a funural
    Thanks for you kind comment

Listening to a voice, listening to a tone even not knowing the words, the tone reveals the mood of sadness
