Watermelon and sunshine

by neon sunset   Mar 29, 2012

I walk the dirt road, while the leaning pines give me shade. i look over at two little girls with their hair in braids. they take giant bites of juicy red watermelon as it drips from their chins. their tingling laughter is carried in the wind. they wear cute yellow sun dresses and sunshine shines down on their freckled covered in sun block faces. they have no knowledge that evil will interrupt their warm embraces.

Sweet innocence... to start off this explosive poem and then it ends with a realistic light of how innocence can be tainted by darkness.... awesome write!! Love your imagery here...
