Hand prints

by neon sunset   Apr 2, 2012

Hand prints on the sidewalk
names written in rainbow chalk
me, a shadow blending in with the trees
the cherry blossom's leaves are blown by the sweet breeze
children's laughter in a nearby park
i watch the stars appear and the light blue turn dark
hand prints wash away from the liquid drops from the sky
the spirits cry
the howling spirits call the names that were washed away
and i just lay
i listen as the lost kids return to the gates in the sky
