Oh hun this poem is so raw and so powerful. It is tearing me up reading this. I love the metaphor about drinking iced tea as a way to describe yourself. Him taking you all, the good and the bad.

The ending though breaks my heart too. You don't want to be left alone, you don't want your loved one to leave

Hun I hope that everything is OK and I am sorry that you and James are going through this. I really do hope that he is better

    AWESOME, heartbreaking poem

I poured out my past like a glass of iced tea,
you drank every last word I shared,
accepting me for me, no judgement,

    ^^ I like this lines.

I couldn't help but cry when I finished reading. I also hope that he is getting better.

    Oh My God..
I never thought this would end that way. You really spoke to my internals, with a voice as shivering.. a style ever rimmed with melancholy.. you poured your heart out on here. And I felt I was attached, head to toe from the very beginning till this heartbreaking end. What can I say more? Would perfectly agonizing.. perfectly emotions stripping, suffice?

no bet, Nominated next week, with a capital N.

Andrea, you are awesomely creative.. beyond any means.

You can't imagine how this write crippled my brains.. my heart.. tore me, literally. ....................................................................<3 Peace

I have to admit, its the title that captured my attention since I am craving ice tea rifht now :P Little did I know that behind this title comes a waterfal of emotions.

I could taste the bitterness in those words, all the echoed sadness that reaches the reader after reading this. How you turned something as sweet and refreshing as an ice into this creative sad piece is amazing.

I loved the way you started it saying that it wont be as elegant and polished as silver spoons, but then you ended it by saying that you would rather polish those silver spoons.

Ohhh how I love reading this piece, honestly wished it didnt end that soon.

    A 5/5 and a nomination :)

The emotions this brought forward in me shows that our lives are the forefront of our creativeness and to read such a poem makes me feel blessed with what I have...
you wrote this with such love and compassion and it pains me to hear of this evil sickness in your world, I wish all the best to all.

    Such a heartbreakingly sad piece.

    love and best wishes

Andrea, Andrea, Andrea...where in the world does your creativity come from???? Seriously when i read Iced tea, I thought ok what is this going to be about? THen i read the stanza that referenced him drinking it and being the iced tea...BUT no way did I expect that last line that leaves the reader on the edge of their seats ready to break down in tears when you talk about the empty glass....

SUch a terrible road to walk down through, but the people who have cancer need as much support as they can get in these troubling times. I hope you stay strong for him, and continue to let your sadness and weak moments happen in your poetry....they truly come out incredible!

Love you darling! <3 hang in there

This one is so heartbreaking, so sad, it touches the readers core. It is difficult to imagine the pain and anguish that this brings. Hope the best for the two of you, and the fight is not over until it is over, so hold tight.

Seems the recurring theme is wow! And I can see why, the fact that you took a title like iced tea and wrote something with complete rawdeep emotion was pure creativity and shows your talent. Although sad it is a real poem this could happen to any of us, and I loved every line of this. Nice work! 5/5
