Only Glancing

by Lofallenve   Apr 16, 2012

Come and take a look in my eyes
Look past the image of you that you will see reflected
In these seemingly still cobalt eyes.
Look deep past the glassy stare.
Behind these wretched blue eyes,
You'll find a grotesque soul,
Stumbling down the road to tragedy.
In her left hand she bears the weapon,
She has used to wreak scars of the fragmented
Across her once, fair, beautiful skin.
Now the scars that line her body
Tells the story of the anguish,
Shows the truth of the despair,
Reveals the road-map to the distraught heart.
In the midst of the grotesque soul,
You'll find the damaged heart
Belonging to the girl with the bottle
Filled with all the empty promises,
Mixed with false hopes of happiness
Topped off with the taste of alcohol
That fails to chase away the sight of his face.
Standing on the outside only glancing.
You'll find a smile painted delicately on my face,
Using laughter as a cover for the pain lodged inside.
So take a long look in these cobalt eyes of mine
And tell me I'll be just fine.

damn, the metaphores here are top notch, this is heartbreak at its worst lol kinda like its gonna turn to bitter hatred at the drop of a needle, nice.

kinda reminds me of self harm cutting. neevr worth defacing yourself over someone else, they should BE so lucky.
