Angel

by Delirium   Apr 18, 2012

A deafening crack
Shades of red
Pearly white and pink
Feathers drift softly along the breeze
Creating spots of black and hues of grey
Throughout the darkened sky
The street reflects artificial light
From street lamps
The pavement wet from passing rain
And something with more color

Curl into the ground
Try to ease your pain
Angel
With broken wings
Your face has gone pale
Your eyes glazed with fear
Where are you now?

Can you bring yourself to move
Knowing you can no longer fly
Once glorious wings filthy
Your feathers clumped with red water
Bone showing through thin skin
Beaten and broken
Alone
