Remember

by Samantha   Apr 19, 2012

Leaving with an Alice on your back,
Boots tied tight an apathetic stare,
And I'm just standing here with all the hope I lack,
Because I know once you're in you're theres,
Do you remember the easy days?
Where football games and prep rally's were what set our souls on fire,
The taste of freedom running through our veins,
That same freedom you're fighting for while I'm pulling all nighters,
If we would have just stayed in school our time wouldn't be up,
The magic would have lived on longer and the world wouldn't seem so pointless,
But wishing on a timeless sky just isn't enough,
I can only hope you find what is lost but don't search too long for autumn bliss,
For autumn simply turns into a season,
High school turns into glorified memories,
If you ever find the downfall of war think hard to back when,
There was a roar of a crowd and glee in the eyes of the hearts set free,
Flirting with the danger of our youth,
Now you're in danger and your fears are present,
I'd give anything to go back with you,
Fight for your life for it was once pleasant.
