I look into your eyes
a silent yet blank stare
in that moment i realize
my job now is to always be there

I count your little fingers
tickle your tiny toes
the smell of your breath lingers
as i kiss you, you wrinkle your nose

my love for you is unmistakable
for my heart you have taken
my strength since you is unbreakable
from this dream i do not want to awaken
