Let Alone

by Selfrejected   May 23, 2012

Meet me there
Where we thought it would stand the test of time
We'll pack up our lives
Sort out all those paper books
And dust off the old photos
That we planned to hide
Don't worry baby I won't cry
if you don't whisper... goodbye

I could come along
I could could figure this all out
Though much is shrouded in doubt
Not much more could go wrong
And as you travel on
An attitude filled with disdain
I didn't mean for it to end this way

Now that I'm alone

Will I surface...
And escape this twilight looming high
Be able to breathe this air
Without a trace of your scent there?
Will I remember
Your smile when I close my eyes?
Be able to love
As the years pass me by?
I truly hope you'll do alright
Just wish we could have weathered that night

Who was I?
(I could of come along)
Where was I?
(I could of figured it all out)
When I let you say goodbye

(added the extra verse)
