Abandoned

by Jenna   May 27, 2012

Daddy, you were there, you watched me grow
And yet when I need you you do not show
There is nothing left in me,
Nothing that says a father
Should treat his child this way
So why must you punish me?
You pushed me aside like a stray dog
You said I was fat, you called me a hog
You treat me like trash, and still you think I'm indebted to you?

Sometimes, I like to pretend I don't know you
It helps ease the pain
It washes the tears as they fall, soft and slow, like the rain.

Again, I ask, why, Daddy, why?
