When the darkness falls
It lurks in the dark like a shadow

Emptiness,

Pain,

Sorrow,

You can try to ignore it,
It still lingers waiting.
Do you hear it?
What's that noise in the distance?
Is it a voice from the past,
or are you hearing the present?
Is it an angel?
Is it a long lost relative giving advice?
Is it your true love guiding you to them?
For a moment you try to listen but its muffled.
I hear

Anger,

Bitterness,

Betrayal,

But it can't be true what their saying.
People don't really say those things or
are as wicked as you say.
I hear it again,
A far away voice it sounds just like them.

Could it be real?
Are they really mad?
What was that look they gave me?
Is the world really that cruel?
or am I the one that's mad?

Voices in the distance.
For a moment you wonder what's
Really happening.
You try to ignore them but they are louder.

Do you feel it?
Things are changing always in motion.
Like pieces of a puzzle coming together.
Things can change in a moment.

Your darkest fear realized.
Your greatest dream come true.
One bad choice can change everything.
In a moment it can all be gone again,
Bad things could happen.
Good things can happen too.

You hold on to the special moment in your heart.
It is good,
It made you feel happy.
It was worth the effort.
People are not really that evil as they say.
Relax
Everything will work out perfectly.
Trust yourself.
Be true to what you believe.
Can you hear it?

Pride,

Happiness,

That's not anger I hear anymore.
It sounds just like them.
But people are really not that nice are they?

I try to ignore it but
still it waits in the dark like a shadow.

Selfishness,

Lust,

Greed,

Hold on to the special moment in your heart.
It made you feel good
It made you happy.
It was worth it.
Relax
Everything will work out perfectly.
The puzzle will be complete.
No missing pieces.
The big lesson realized.

Still I hear them talking in the distance
and can feel the darkness lurking.

Be strong now.
There's nothing I can do about other people's actions
or what's to become.
Dwell in the darkness and it will come.
Hold on to the light and it will come.
All we can do is what makes us happy and comfortable until we die.

Still it waits in the darkness like a shadow.
But pay them no mind.
Be strong.
Be who you are.
Trust yourself and time
to make things alright.
