A Civilized Nature pt1

by Merdy   May 31, 2012

Of course you know what happened, i need not repeat everything here. Yet i believe you may have forgotten things you said that night. How it started, how I followed it up, and how it ended. Even i have forgotten. I do not want, right now, to write about you as a character in a novel... I just want to tell you which of your words affected me.
You spoke of the man from whom you had been separated from. You said that what men seem to need is a woman in her primitive state... That you felt too civilized. You had already been molded by civilization to the point where you could hardly feel you were a real person. You wanted desperately to return to being naturally, wild. "When men get together." you also said, "it annoys me that they always discuss women, even though I think they hardly understand us at all. The only ones who really know women are women themselves."
I said that women could misunderstand women as men often misunderstood men. "The only ones who really understand are the few with any intelligence." that we have mostly forgotten the words we said then is because they were all for show, they were like lines in a play. We were using language as a walking stick. Leaning on it, we were joining hands to enter a cave.
