Alone with Nature

by Paul   Jun 6, 2012

Its early evening
A warm day in June
Gold rays from the west
Give way to the moon

Shadows run and hide
As darkness descends
Pink petals turn gray
Light reaches its end

Wild sounds from the wood
Come quickly alive
Where creatures contend
And the strong survive

The cool breath of God
Bends timber too tall
The branch and the leaf
Prepare for the fall

My senses now full
I sit and ponder
The truth of this life
And all its wonder

Oh why am I here
What good shall I do
The answer comes clear
So simple and true

I've come to this place
To learn and transcend
Spirit my teacher
And Nature my friend
