My Dada

by Tinusha   Jun 17, 2012

A man from a small town, with willows and winding roads,
Is my Dad, a hard working family man,
Simple natured and always cheerful,
Loves cooking up food and travel plans

He has accomplished his dream,
Of working with columns and beams.
an engineer.. building houses and bridges

Not a stereotype father ,
austere and stern like a headmaster, Rather..
a warm and amiable friend, you can open up to..
forever protecting me from disaster..

He is strong, patient and calm..like the Himalayas,
having the wisdom and vision of a Sage,
There is another distinct side to him,
A car-crazy lover, with his wheels on the road,
if not, aligned in the house Garage.

When my eyes get hazy and i can't see any further...
He has always been my candle in the dark..
Guiding and protecting me
through the rough and harsh times, like Noah's ark.

He has always taught me to respect beings and nature..
Learn to be patient and chase my dreams..
as words like "giving up" isn't in his nomenclature!
