Blinded Eyes

by SouthernGal   Jul 4, 2012

Can you see me mother dear?
Me, your daughter, who is about to be
Your daughter no longer...
Don't believe me? Just wait and see.

I'm flailing my arms around
Hoping that our glances will meet
But when I'm looking in your eyes
You are looking at my feet.

It's quite sad, actually
That you say one thing, and yet
You do something else.
Do you feel anything? Like regret?

I'm sorry. I am mistaken.
Those pills cloud your mind, so
It's not you that I am talking to
My mother was gone a long time ago.

I wish I could have you back.
I wish you could love me somehow.
It's you who chose this conflict
I know I'll never get you back now.

Time will go on, it never stops
Now you're gone, and what can I do?
Just sit back and watch our love
That we had, be consumed?
