Fearful Courage

by Watercolourz   Jul 6, 2012

You have so many secrets and all you do is run;
All you do is stare down at the barrel of a gun;
Fate keeps throwing your cards at my door;
But all I do is watch your tears hit the floor.

Follow your thread, swallow the gun that is in your hand;
While the murderer is staring at you;
What you'll accomplish is almost grand;
Make the world think you want something new.

That murderer is just part of your fate;
Keeping your sanity down, pulling it away;
There are stories that you cannot unmake;
Broken pieces that grab you and stay.

Your mind sends out the wolves;
And your courage just hides like a sin;
It makes you think that what you touch just dissolves;
While numbness burrows in.

I've watched a few drown in your sin;
When the horrors followed you in;
Your heart, the king, died like royalty;
Nothing was left but her majesty;
Hope.

She tells you that she can't come home;
Your courage just dies, forced by their lies;
There's no more light in your eyes;
Did the sun just burn out, leaving you all alone?

      Yeah... too many people know that story and some know it better than others. Wish it wasn't true but it's the way things are. At least we're survivors of that.
