Wonderful Wondering

by joseph santacruz   Jul 6, 2012

I remember forgotten lovers, nights spent not so great
like unconsumed things left behind on my plate.
If I could return I doubt that I would
because tomorrows promises are better than good.
I borrow memories from the future that I call dreams
as I am building new bridges and stitching up old seams.
I abandon thoughts negative to die in the past
and focus on good times not old unanswerable questions asked.
Im counting on tomorrow and what I will find
treasures,lovers or happiness defined.
As I sit and wonder will my past make my future present tense?
whatever it may be I enjoy the suspense.
I wonder if a plant misses its seed?
or if a dog misses being a puppy? since thats guaranteed.
I wonder if the ocean misses waves left on the shore?
or seeks tomorrows breakers to enjoy their roar?
Today I will workout and keep up my tan
so tomorrow can gaze on a much handsomer man.
To answers lifes riddles I think I know how
to try and be happy as I live here and now.
When tomorrow comes with chances to do things right
I will go with the flow and not put up a fight.
Yesterdays history, tomorrows a mystery, the futures a mirage
unknown yet to be shown prevents self sabotage.
Im glad im not psychic with forcasting eyes
its wonderful wondering and not spoiling my surprise.
