by joseph santacruz   Jul 7, 2012

Rainy nightz I see through barz
this rainy night there are no starz.
Somewhere a fire burnz for me
rainy nightz tranquility.
As the heavenz continue to spill
rainy nightz against my windowsillz.
Somewhere smilez I cant see
my rainy nightz place to be.
Cloudz go boom deep in the skyz
mother naturez own hi-fi.
Rainy nightz I cant feel
tonightz a wont and not a will.
Rainy nightz untogether
lonely rainy night lost forever.
Another time rainy nightz
a rainy time when I got it right.
Rainy nightz lullabyz
raindropz and teardropz side by side.
Tonightz a rainy night in hell....
Rainy nightz in prison cellzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzz

I really liked this piece. I grew up with my dad in prison (step father, but always daddy in my heart) I understand the isolation, longing & loneliness you portray. Takes me back to all the cherished letters & phone calls from him.

One of the hardest parts of being slammed is being away from your loved ones. I left a little girl and when I came back she was a teenager. She was always daddys little girl. Now she is standoffish to our reconciliation.I do not think she understands why daddy had to leave.I hope we can reconcile. The mother has remarried and my daughter has a step father/ new father figure in her life, but she will always be my tiny dancer.
