The first and last

Yes was all I could say
We were on our first official date
Yea I mean we’ve been out before
But never alone…

You had the whole night planned out
Dinner…movie…then walk on the beach
The dinner was great..little did I kno you didn’t think so

We were in the car to the movie, u wrote a note
Told me not to read it till the night was over
I guess you had cancer..and I didn’t know
No one knew except your family

We got to the intersection the light was red
And you went….I was screaming for my life at that second
You saw a semi coming and knew it would hurt you more then me

It all happened so fast.. I only remember you flying out of the car windshield
And me screaming your name…I woke up in a hospital bed
I had just a few broken bones nothing major…

I yelled your name as loud as I could..
The nurse came in the tell me to quite down
I didn’t and kept yelling your name

She told me that you died when you hit the windshield of the car
I felt like my heart sunk..we were dating for so long..
It was my 16th birthday and my first real date…

The nurse came back in and handed me a letter
It was the note that you wrote in the car
And it told me about how you had cancer
And that you loved me for so long but were to scared…
The last line is what got me the most….and all it said was..
That if you were to die..you’d want to die with the one you loved…
