Electric Fences

by Freeze Tyler   Jul 13, 2012

I'm not the best I can be right now,
And I know this,
And sometimes my guard slips
And I accidentally show it.
I need your help more than I want it,
I just don't show it.
You know I've been pissed off lately
At things I don't get.
Endless secrets and regrets
That barrier us from getting closer.
As soon as hands touch
Electric fences it's instantly over.
A deadly spark between you and I
That brings an embrace with closed eyes.
Take my hand and pick me up
Because I can't keep talking through these hiccups.
I need your help to pony up
Because I can't keep running over speedbumps.
The lump in my chest is restless
When a purple dress clothes the closest one
Who controls the guns I shoot.
I control the way I boot when I restart,
But she tells me what is smart when
An electric fence keeps me in check.
Denser than the rest she is the best
Person I know to get me to start again.
Don't take it as a please, take it as a plea
To help me be everything I can possibly be;
A figure of your tolerance,
An apprentice to you promises
To make me a better person.
An honest no longer lost in the swallowing of nervousness.
I want your helping hand
To help bring back my purpose
And to make me a man.
