Letter 61 ~Etched Into My Brain~

by Marcus blake   Jul 14, 2012

I'll always remember you, when the days get shorter for me
When I get so old my memories leave me
I'll always remember you
I have you etched into my brain
So I know when I die I'll never forget your name
With every flaw involved and you still showed me
Love had no bounds, no limits, no shortcuts
When pressure came you always made peace
When I was wrong you always agreed with me
And that dream we made, those moments we saved
In our pockets so we could reminiscence
in our later days
Weren't for nothing
When we questioned ourselves
Asking if we really wanted this, could we really do this
Do we need this
You... me...
Arguing more than talking
Feeling like we've changed so much
And without even noticing
That same love, and those long hugs
Stopped making you happy
Still...
I'll always remember you though, always
Even when the days get shorter, and shorter for me
When I get so old my memories leave me, and I'm dying
I will always remember you
Cause I have you etched into my brain
So I know when I die and if I leave you
I'll never forget your name

"What we held on to that day, when we said we'd forget about life; drinking away all our worries with that cheap bottle of wine" -Marcus A. Blake-
